Pinions with 0.6 to 0.8 mm bore are loose on motor axis, in order to avoid an important axial insertion effort on the motor. The gear is glued with a minimum amount of Cyanolit. Pinions for 1mm motor are tight, because gluing POM gears is acceptable only for very low torques. See the gearboxes we propose for slow flyers.

Gear will be loose on an axis 0.02mm smaller, and tight on an axis 0.02 to 0.05 mm, depending on the shaft diameter.

With gear 360S, 4x60 changes are generated per turn. A simple microprocessor program can measure up to over 6000 RPM (PIC 16F84 4MHz) See our application note . One should be careful of the orientation of the marks on leads, and to the revert packaging compared to LEDs: the phototransistors face the flat surface.
